Mechanical Design Engineer
| My client, a global leader in the waste industry is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who will be responsible for the mechanical design of filtration systems, waste loading systems and other ancillary equipment. This role would suit someone with experience in heavy industrial machinery design, ideally furnaces or kilns. The candidate will join the existing multi-skilled design team and work closely with the entirety of the Projects team to deliver the highest quality product.
Responsibilities – Creating fabrication drawings and general arrangement drawings to BS8888 standard. – Designing bespoke equipment to meet customer requirements. – Meet strict timescale and budgetary constraints. – Cross check drawings of colleagues. – Design calculations by excel/hand as necessary. – Visits to site to carry out measurements and carry out feasibility studies. – Create installation GA’s for site engineers. – Creating refractory installation drawings. – Preparing bill of materials. – Providing technical input to sales team. – Estimating fabrication costs.
Essential – SolidWorks experience. – Minimum 5 years bespoke machinery design experience. – Valid UK driving licence. – Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills. – Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. – Degree in an Engineering field (a clear growth path through engineering apprenticeships and design roles will also be considered).
Desirable – AutoCAD LT experience. – Experience with refractory materials.
Package – Salary, up to £45K dependant on experience. – Profit based bonus scheme. – 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
