Wentworth James Group has engaged with a key client and a market leading business within Automation & Packaging Solutions for the Food industry based in Dudley, West Midlands. Due to team growth we are seeking an onsite Maintenance Engineer (Multi-skilled) but electrically bias, based in Dudley to join on a permanent basis.

Working hours: Any 5 from 7 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm

Job Description

The purpose of a Shift Engineer is to ensure the smooth day to day running of the technical function and ensure that company quality standards are adhered to.

Key Duties of a Shift Engineer: 

• Providing engineering solutions and assist in an operational capacity whilst supporting Food safety/Hygiene Health and Safety procedures.
• Monitoring all machines and ancillary plant
• Follow preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules
• Inspection outside production hours some week end overtime working will be required to suit the business needs
• To carry out scheduled work to restore machines and site back to standard.
• To carry out change overs when required.
• Look for opportunities to continuously improve machine performance.
• To assist in colleague training and development when required.
• Drive own personal development through training and work-based experience.

Qualifications

• 17th edition
• Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience
• Proven experience working with packaging machinery within fast moving consumable goods environment
• Basic computer literacy.
• Able to communicate and motivate others is an essential part of the role.
• Experience of pneumatics including but not limited to :Horizontal flow packers, Vertical form fill baggers, Carton erectors, Gluing systems, Checkweighrers.
