Wentworth James Group Ltd are a skilled engineering and technical agency who supply skilled blue and white collar engineering personnel. We are currently looking for a skiled Toolmaker to work for one of our expanding manufacturing companies.

Press Toolmaker

This role is of key importance to the continued growth and development of our company. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience within a press tool repair and manufacturing environment and the ability to work under pressure. The individual will be expected to support the day-to-day production activities in the most efficient manner, working with a team to provide preventative, breakdown, and development activities to support the manufacturing divisions.

» Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively

» Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount

» Able to communicate at all levels and have a “can do” attitude

» Able to read engineering drawings

Your responsibilities

» Operate standard tool room equipment proficiently, including EDM Wire Eroding machines

» Operate a Forklift Truck to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production

» Ensure as part of the team, all breakdowns are covered in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum

» Aim for a “right first time” approach to all work carried out

» Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs

» Maintain awareness and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, housekeeping standards and Company rules and procedures

» Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures

» Seek continuous improvement related to the business KPI’s and as part of the team, contribute towards improved performance and the overall improvement of the business
