Our client has been established for almost a quarter of a century and is recognised as a UK Market leader in the manufacture of bespoke Aerospace and MOD machined parts for a diverse range of applications, Nuclear and aerospace employing more than 50 people and supplying specifically to OEM companies. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, proactive and practical Quality Manager to complement their committed and professional team.
Based in Birmingham and reporting at board level, the successful Quality Manager candidate will be responsible for leading the Quality Assurance function throughout the business, encompassing the day-to-day management of the Quality Assurance team, coordinating the activities required to meet all quality standards within the industry and regular audits. Producing product and component reports ensuring all KPI’s are met.
Other responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
• Maintaining ISO9001, AS9001 as required and ensuring ‘Best in Class’ service to all internal and external customers
• Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety legislation across the business
• Ensuring the QMS is maintained, developed and updated as necessary in line with the company’s current and future quality approvals.
• Leading and promoting the company’s quality philosophies and CI initiatives both internally and externally
• Ensuring internal quality audit team are fully trained and scheduling internal and external audit programmes.
• Producing and updating strategic plans and objectives for the QA function
• Monitoring and measuring performance through relevant data and statistical reports
• Liaising with fellow members of the business, provide training, tools and techniques to achieve the company’s quality standards.
• Developing, training and managing the Quality Assurance team
• Responsible for the company’s sustainability processes, improvements and ongoing climate-neutral ambitions.
• Overseeing and ensuring that Health and Safety requirements are met throughout the company.
Acting as proactive member of the Leadership Team, you will also ensure compliance with all relevant certifications and battery legislations throughout the company in order to ensure successful external audits are maintained, whilst monitoring and updating the company’s national and customer standards library on an ongoing basis.
In an environment where new equipment and techniques are introduced on an ongoing basis in order to meet challenging application requirements, the successful candidate will be a robust, proactive and dynamic individual.
Able to demonstrate a versatile background in manual and semi-automated assembly operations and able to make a major contribution to a comprehensive quality operation. The Quality Manager should also be able to review existing quality procedures in order to improve efficiencies and ensure that procedures are relevant to what is required by new and existing customers alike.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
– Proven experience in quality management or a related role
– Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools
– Experience with analyzing data and using statistical techniques for quality improvement
– Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues and develop effective solutions
– Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
– Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
